Hey there! I am blissin' that you are diggin' the Spork!
How It All Began
I became interested in health at an early age when forced to face a debilitating auto-immune disorder at age 5. After learning about the resounding benefits of following a whole food plant based diet I knew I had found my life's passion.
I began my blog (originally titled Vegucated Kitchen) in 2012 to share my plant based recipes. Since then, I has received a Certificate in Plant Based Nutrition from Cornell University.
Along my journey I have explored a variety of healing cuisines. When I say a variety, I mean it! Here is a quick (incomplete) list of some of the eating styles, cuisines, and diets I have studied.
- Vegan
- Vegetarian
- Junk Food Vegan and Vegetarian
- Elimination Diet
- FODMAPS
- Low Histamine Diet
- Pescatarian
- Macrobiotic
- Ayurveda
- Raw Food Vegan
- High Carb Low Fat Raw Vegan
- Raw Til 4 Vegan canadianviagras.net
- The Starch Solution (High Carb Low Fat Vegan)
- Nutritarian
- Plant Based
- Paleo
- Low Carb
Guess what I have learned from all of this confusing buzz? Two things:
-
There is no one diet right for everyone.
-
Whole REAL food is the only food.
This means that for everyone, start by eating real, whole foods, and see how you feel. Still have some ailments? Then dive deeper into a self guided or professional program to sleuth the ideal diet for you.
In other words I have found that there is much truth and knowledge in many diets out there. Some are based on more sound principles that others, but the good ones all share some key similarities. They focus on real, whole foods.
Nothing gets me more fired up than helping others who are just beginning their health journey. I know first hand the power of healthy, healing food and love to show others delicious ways to create memorable, affordable and easy food.
